New York: George D. Sproul, 1903. Octavo (8.5 x 5.75), vi + 436 pages + vi + 421 pages, with three black and white illustrations from drawings by E. Van Muyden and Eugene Courboin in each volume. Lourve editions XXIV and XXV. Brown 3/4 leather binding with marbled boards and endpapers and gold lettering and design on spine; the top surface of the text block is gilded. The interior is spotless and the binding is solid, but the cover shows wear and tear consistent with its age (see image).
