All three volumes are identically bound in lovely brown cloth with gold decorations and titles, black rules and blindstamped decorations, all edges gilt, silk 'Moire' end papers. Quite an attractively bound and large (heavy at app. 32 lbs) set of all 3 books. Vol. I decribes various mammals, Vol. II describes various birds & Vol.III reptiles, all in North America. Illustrated; 30 large full-page tussue-guarded Chromolithographic plates; Dozens of full-page etchings in B&W, Hundreds of smaller B&W etchings interspersed throughout. Simply an immense work with lovely ppo (Pictures Pasted On) Victoriam Chromo's by the famous Louis Prang Co. The set is in Near Fine condition and quiote visually appealing, contents of which are fine. The tip of the spine on vol. I chipped, all else NF to Fine with minor rubbing and corner bumps from poor handling. Large and heavy set, please contact directly for S&H quote, Overseas shipping very limited.
