About This Item

Glendale, CA: The Arthur H. Clark Co, 1951. First Edition. Large Octavo. 455pp. 18 plates. one folding map. While there has been much history written about the civil war taking place in the North and Southern states there was yet another army which served longer, fought as bravely an died as valiantly. This was the Army of the Pacific. It was composed entirely of volunteers who fought over a territory one-third larger than the total area of all the seceded states. Much of this information was taken from 150 letters written by those volunteers. A fine bright copy bound in blue cloth, spine lettering and top edge gilt.
