The first edition copy of this notable art lecture delivered by the famous British designer and artist, William Morris. The first edition. Bound in the original paper boards with cloth spine. Printed at the Chiswick Press with the golden type designed by William Morris himself for the Kelmscott Press. A lecture delivered by William Morris at Burslem Town Hall on October 13, 1881. Published posthumously. William Morris was a notable British textile designer, poet, artist, writer, activist and conservationist. He is widely known for his association with the British Arts and Crafts movement and is recognised as one of the most significant cultural figures of Victorian Britain. In the original half cloth binding. Externally, smart with marks to the boards and fading to the spine. Shelf wear to the edges. Offsetting to the paste-downs and free endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age-toned but otherwise very bright and clean. Very Good
