London, 1892. unbound. 1 page on "Federation of Trades & Labour Unions" letterhead, 10 x 8 inches, London, June 30, 1892. Written to the editor of the "Bradford Observer," one of England's more conservative newspapers, while planning the Hyde Park mass strike, in part: "...Thomas Nash being away...he has asked me to send you 'Labor notes' this and next week, but am not sure whether they are the sort of thing he reviews. Will you please let me know so that I might I have them proofed for next week..." Light chipping and minor discoloration on the bottom and right margins; good condition.<br/><br/> British trade union activist and champion of civil rights who founded the National Democratic Party (NDP) and served as Member of Parliament and chairman of the House of Commons. Edwards organized the great dock strike of 1889 and the mass demonstration of 1893 in Hyde Park for miners and their families. He brought attention to the Senghenyd Colliery Disaster in which 439 miners perished, and he chaired the inquiry into the sinking of RMS Titanic, uncovering proof of gross negligence on behalf of the White Star Line which led to the deaths of 1517 people.<br/><br/>
