John Camden Hotten & George Routledge and Sons. London.,1869 & 73. FIRST EDITIONS. Two volumes. The first volume was first published by Hotten, as here, before being transfered to Routledge. Both volumes illustrated throughout the text by the author. Finely bound in contemporary half black calf. Spines with raised bands,red title labels, gilt. Compartments decorated in gilt.Black pebble grain cloth on boards. Marbled endpapers. All edges dyed red. Small (1.5 inch) split to the top hinge of first volume but still holding firm. Some rubbing to edges but overall a very good set in attractive early bindings.:
