About This Item
1970 classic hardcover as pictured. This is a documentary novel by Anatoly Kuznetsov about the Nazi occupation of Kyiv and the two-day murder of 33,771 Jews in September 1941 at Babi Yar, a Kyiv ravine. Translated by David Floyd. First published in 1966 in censored form in the USSR, the book was published in the West in 1970 under a pseudonym, A. Anatoli. In this edition, the edited Soviet version is printed in regular type, the content cut by Soviet editors in heavier type, and newly added material in brackets. Binding is firm. Maroon cloth boards with gold stamping are clean and show minimal shelf wear. Endpapers and text appear clean and unmarked. Dust jacket has several small chips and tears which have been repaired with clear tape. Condition would be as very good except for wear to DJ.
