About This Item
London: Folio Society. Near Fine. 1999. Hardcover. Thomas Hodgkin (1831-1913) was a British historian whose eight volume "Italy and Her Invaders" is considered to be his seminal work. This volume is a reprinting of the 8 volume set by the Folio Society. It is bound in the original publisher's dark blue cloth spine over black and white printed covers with gilt spine lettering within a red background. Illustrated with end paper maps, a color frontis and three color plates. There is a previous owner name and date on the front free end paper, else this is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, and no bookplates. The book is contained in a very nice red printed slipcase, with just a little wear to one corner. ; Color Illustrations; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 644 pages .
