Boston: The Four Seas Press, 1927. First edition. Hardcover. Near fine/Near fine. First edition. Hardcover. 12mo. 62pp. Limited to 500 copies. Offered here together are two copies of the book: The first copy is INSCRIBED by Winters "For ALLEN TATE, most Christian of philosophers, from Yvor Winters." It is in poor condition with the spine worn off, the front board, the fly leaf (with the inscription) and half-title are detached, but it is a nice association. The second copy is in near fine condition with a near fine dust jacket. Gilt stamped grey paper covered boards with paper spine label. Some mild toning/ offsetting to end papers. Dust jacket has mild toning to edges. This copy from the library of Joshua Odell, has a penciled note indicating that it was given to him by Winter's wife, author Janet Lewis. The two copies are housed in a custom folding box with a paper spine label.
