Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1957. First edition, first printing, 1957. Journal of a World War II battle halfway between Naples and Rome. Illustrated with maps and black and white photographs. Black boards with scarlet linen-like cloth spine, silver gilt and black spine lettering, 309 pages, color illustrated dustjacket. The book is in good condition with a very gently rubbed spinefoot, slightly darkened endpapers from an old clipping, a slightly musty odor, sound text block, good hinges, notation on front free endpaper, otherwise clean contents free from markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped and is in very good condition, lightly faded, with some very light overall surface rubbing.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
