Description: Original antique steel-line engraved print of the Bay of Naples, with Mount Vesuvius in the background.

The Gulf of Naples, also called the Bay of Naples, is a roughly 9 miles wide gulf located along the south-western coast of Italy. It opens to the west into the Mediterranean Sea.

The artist George Arnald ARA (1763 – 21 November 1841) was a British painter who specialized in landscapes, including topographical views to illustrated county histories. He is best known for his celebrated painting depicting the Battle of the Nile.
