Roquelaure Hardcover First Edition - First Printing New York: Dutton, 1984 (issued simultaneous in the UK by Macdonald) with early 20th century impressionist like dust jacket art. $14.95 cover price. States "First Edition" on the copyright page with number-line down to "1", indicating a first edition/first printing. (NOTE: There are reprints of this book with laminated covers without jackets. This is a bona fide first edition/first printing in red covers and jacket.)

Fine in Fine- Dust Jacket. Book itself is a fine nearly perfect example in an almost-perfect jacket with one tiny repaired slit at one corner, almost imperceptible. Priced to sell.

NOTE on Edition: Except for her vampire novels, several of Rice's other novels, such as "Cry to Heaven" about the Italian castrati singers of the 18th and 19th centuries, did not sell well. Then she decided to write a series of erotic novels under the pseudonym A.N. Roquelaure, probably intending the name to sound French. The books were a hit and the rest is history.
