London: Black. FINE book & DJ. 1st ed, 1st printing. 8.5"x6". 390pp.. 1908. 1st edition.. Hardcover. FINE book & DJ. INMAN 5. 1st printing of 1000 max. Pristine text, plates, tissue guards and the fold out map. . With black tp shield. Inman specifically states that all Belgium reprints (there were many) had red tp shields. With fold out map. RARE in DJ. DJ extrems w few 1/4" max chips & tears. Immaculate book & DJ. All three text block edges as clean & white as new. Neither book nor DJ sunned, stained, soiled or foxed. No marginalia. Also book stays TIGHTLY CLOSED when stood on its spine, so read with great care, if at all. MINOR book flaws: (1) pastedowns lightly glue browned, (2) upper tip bumped, (3) front inner hinge paper cracked, hinge itself sound. Two pieces of A&C Black ephemera laid in, Scottish Widow's Fund book mark and a four page A&C Black sale flyer. .
