New York: The Macmillan Company. Hardcover. Very Good/very good. " 'Honk-honk-honk.' The wild geese were flying south. The big harvest moon had come and gone. Red and gold were the leaves on the maples and oaks, and the wind that blew down from the north was cold". First edition, later printing of 1949 Caldecott Medal winning title. Tight binding. No chips, tears, creases or written inscriptions on pages. A 0.5" chip on read dust jacket flap. Brown glue spots, blue glue marks under jacket flaps along flap fore-edges. A 0.5" and 1.0" tape-repaired tear at bottom edge of front free endpaper. Clean and bright pages. Gold-coloured Caldecott Medal sticker on front of jacket. Jacket is in a clear, protective Gaylord cover.
