Glasgow, Edinburgh & London: Blackie & Son Ltd.. Good+ with no dust jacket. 1854. New Edition. Hardcover. All nine books have university library markings but were only reference books, not circulating; In brown cloth blindstamped and stamped with elaborate gilt decoration of the Crests of the Scottish University. To front (bright) and spine (somewhat faded) ; Some cracked hinges, but textblocks are tight and square with any foxing restricted to small patches to the front preliminaries, among the plates. Some spine edges have short splits, but cloth is generally very good. Unmarked text is remarkably bright and crisp with some volumes having uncut pages. Complete, including supplement of 1855. Several engraved portraits in each volume. .
