Lithograph, map 25.5 x 68.5 cm, sheet size 31 x 84.5 cm, birds eye plan of the Canal, printed in colours, old folds and creases, pressed, spotting to verso, blank verso. A Special Supplement of The Graphic (a weekly illustrated newspaper), issued on 2 September 1882, in between the British bombardment of Alexandria (July) and the battle of Tell El Kebir (September). British forces crushed a revolt against the Khedive led by Ahmed Urabi, protecting British control of the Suez canal and leading to a British military occupation. Map
