New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1916. First EditionThus. Very good in black cloth covered boards with gilt text on the spine and an illustrated, color paper label on the front board and gilt to the top edge of the text block. A small quarto of 9 1/4 by 7 inches with several light scratches to the color paper label on the front board, fading to the backstrip of the spine, a 1/4 inch closed tear to the fly title page, some soiling to that same page and light soiling to the forward edge of the title page. Without its very scarce dust jacket. 328 pages of text and illustrated with end sheets, color title page, and 13 of the 14 color plates by N. C. Wyeth. It is the last plate facing page 324 which is missing. A clean and collectible copy of this beloved classic story by Robert L Stevenson.
