New York: W. W. Norton, 1994. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/fine. Octavo, 255pp. A fine, unread copy in like dust jacket. SIGNED and quite warmly INSCRIBED by Mosley on the half-title page: "Presented to Nathan Oliver on the occasion of a book signing at Marrow of Tradition June 19, 1994. Walter Mosley." Oliver founded the Charles Waddell Chesnutt Literary Society, a group which honors the Black writer and Cleveland native, whose most popular novel, "The Marrow of Tradition" was the namesake of Oliver's Akron bookstore, referenced in the inscription. Signed copies of Mosley titles, even early ones, are easy to find, but ones with this sort of pleasing association are far less common.
