Published by Author, 1985-01-01. Paperback. Good. Published by Author, 1985. 7 pages of lovely black and white illustrated paper dolls with accompanying clothes/ costumes. Signed and dated by Author on inside of front cover. In good+ condition. Black and white illustrated covers are a bit tanned from the son. Otherwise pages are clean and unmarked. Cover has the fairy Marabelle. [From second page] Marabelle is fair of face if mortals could but see she longs to be a human but that she cannot be. For a fairy she was born to a title old and good - destined to be a fairy queen and keeper of the woods. It's morning in the forest as Gretchen comes in sight She's dancing on sunbeam to everyone's delight. [From page 3] When the forest bathes in darkness Prince Lovel Rides through the night Searching for his fairy princes cursed to spend her days in light; [Fourth page layout] In the forest thick with moss and leaves upon the ground if you look very closely you'll see fairies there abound; There're dewdrops on their tiny wings from the cold wet morning mists and the tinkling music you can hear is from blue bells on their wrists; [back cover] There's laughter in the forest from the baby fairies there; they're playing hide and seek with the butterflies and bears. Lou Rathjen was an artist know for her original quilt and applique patterns, and her collector quality, historically accurate, original paper dolls designs. She was featured artist in a number of national trade magazines and newsletters.
