About This Item
DJ has small crease, wear, scuffing and a few tape-repaired tears, it is in a protective sleeve; clothbound boards worn at foot of spine. Textblock pages are clean, color illustrations throughout.
From the DJ front flap—"In sprightly verse the author tells of the frolics and fun and exotic dreams of two dogs, her imaginative illustrations bringing their glistening black-and-white world vividly to life." The author has acknowledged her wish that her story might be read, in part, as an appeal for racial equality.
Reviews

I got a used copy of this as a gift from a friend. I treasure it. I enjoyed sharing it with my pre-school students and with my own children. The drawings are fantastic and printed in an old-fashioned style. They're really creative. I was afraid given the title the book would have a vaguely hidden message about racial equality, but it just reads like a playful, imaginative lark between two friends where they dip into beautiful scenery awake and in dreams. It's a treat for the eyes, lots of 'scope for the imagination' as Anne might say. Nice for kids learning to read and learning to speak.
