Trilogy" is set in Summer, 1968, with Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy dead, with Chicago preparing for an explosive Democratic National Convention. Three men are on collision course as they pursue a leftist shadow woman named Joan Rosen Klein. Dwight Holly, J. Edgar Hoover's pet strong arm man; Wayne Tedrow, ex-cop and heroin runner building a mob gambling mecca in the Dominican Republic; and Don Crutchfield, a young window-peeping private detective too close to right wing assassins and left wing revolutionaries. All of them will pay a savage price in their race for the Red Goddess. An unread copy signed by Ellroy on the title page. A very collectable copy.
Synopsis
James Ellroy was born in Los Angeles in 1948. His L.A. Quartet novels— The Black Dahlia, The Big Nowhere, L.A. Confidential, and White Jazz —were international best sellers. His novel American Tabloid was Time magazine’s Best Book (fiction) of 1995; his memoir, My Dark Places, was a Time Best Book of the Year and a New York Times Notable Book for 1996. His novel The Cold Six Thousand was a New York Times Notable Book and a Los Angeles Times Best Book for 2001. Ellroy lives in Los Angeles.
