New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1928. Hardcover. Good. 8vo. [i-xiv] xv-li [lii-liv] 169 pp [1]. Yellow paper-covered boards backed in red cloth with gold titling to spine. Lacking dust jacket. Boards soiled, corners bumped. Spine slightly cocked, cloth and gilt faded with chipping to spine ends. Text block top stained in faded red, small soil mark to fore edge. Endpapers have some soiling and offsetting, with markings from two previous owners to ffep- one in black ink dated 1929, the other below in pencil. Rest of text is clean. Binding remains tight and sturdy. Prohibition era reprint featuring classic cocktail recipes from "Professor" Jerry Thomas, formerly principal bartender at the Metropolitan Hotel, New York, and at the Planters' House, St. Louis. Including several non-alcoholic "Temperance Drinks." Illustrated throughout. Edited, with an introduction by Herbert Asbury.
