NF/VG++. 1st Edition, 15 x 23.8 cm green cloth with silver and pale green titles to the spine, 125 [3] with a colour frontispiece and 10 illustrations in black and white by Robin Jacques. In original price clipped jacket. A near fine book. Internally clean, without name or inscription and just a small bookseller's ticket on the front pastedown. The dust jacket which is now protected in a removable, clear cover (not shown) has just a touch of creasing to the top and bottom edges. All in all a scarce 1st Edition of this highly collectable series of Manning-Sanders fairy tale books. Some of tales from this book are recollected in Folk and Fairy Tales (1978) by Manning-Sanders.
