About This Item

New York: Crown/Random House, 2001. First Edition, First Printing. . Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. Rabb's second novel is a mystery-thriller featuring Ian Pearse, a young American priest working as a researcher at the Vatican Library, who comes into possession of an ancient scroll after the mysterious death of one priest and the disappearance of another. Translation of the scroll reveals a dormant but still live Manichaen conspiracy awaiting "the great awakening." When the Pope dies and the woman who translated the scroll is kidnapped, Father Pearse realizes the great awakening is now. Boards and text are clean and unmarked, tight and square, no remainder marks. The dustjacket shows perhaps a trace of edgewear, no tears or creases, no chipping, not price-clipped. Collectable.
