With 425 pictures and figures in text and one insert. B&W illustrations including one fold out illustration. Small tear to fold out. Original green cloth with gilt titling on front cover and spine, with pictorial illustration inlaid on cover, blind stamping to rear cover.Veined edges. Floral endpapers, ownership inscription to FFEP, stain to RFEP. Some scuffs to boards, light wear to joints, bumping to corners. Hinges starting, inner hinge cracking at title page. A few tears to pages and minor soiling throughout, not affecting text. Gothic typeface. Ribbon marker.
