Sharp corners. NO owner's name or bookplate. NOT a remainder. Pages are clean, crisp, and unmarked. 1988. First printing of the First Edition, with "First published in Great Britain in 1988" so stated, and no indication of any other printings. In addition to his signature, the half title page has the author's official rubberstamp ["Dr. N. G. Roberts, Principal Medical Officer, R.M.S. Queen Elizabeth 2"] and his note that the book was "Purchased on board QE2 1988." Bound in the original blue boards, stamped in bright gold on the spine. Complete with dust jacket.. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole.
