About This Item

Liverpool: Barrauds Ltd, 1894. Unbound. Near Fine. Cabinet card albumen photograph. Image is approximately 4" x 6" on slightly larger card with photographer's marks. Right margin a little uneven, possibly trimmed to fit in an album, else near fine. Barrett, was one of leading actors on the British stage in the 1880s, as well as being a playwright. This card depicts Wilson in a nautical-type uniform and promotes his role in the stage production that Wilson wrote himself, based on, and just three weeks after the publication of the novel by Hall Caine about the Isle of Man.
