Longtime San Diego resident & newspaperman chronicles the history of this port city through the development of its Bay, the first point of entry into the US on the West Coast, then a major hub of the tuna fishing industry home to the US Navy. In 152 pages with Bibliography & Index. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing, from 1969, this hardcover small 4to has gray & white cloth over boards, lettered in black to front & spine, with an image of 30masted schooner to front; design replicated on DJ. the book is in Near Fine condition: completely clean, binding straight & strong, pages creamy white with a hint of tanning, but unmarked. The unclipped DJ is just Fair, downgraded due to missing sections (chips, holes) at bottom & top edges from insect damage; nicely preserved now in new clear mylar cover.
