(Blurb from front cover) Condition / Notes: This is a scarce stated first printing of this crime novel, later revised and republished as "The Gutter and the Grave" by Ed McBain. This volume is bound in its original illustrated stiff wrappers. The book is in excellent condition. The price of 25 cents appears on the front cover and the code number 814 there and at the top of the spine. The title page indicates this to be "an Original Gold Medal Novel." The bottom edge of the rear cover bears the statement "Fawcett World Library." small 1/4" closed split at bottom front of spine fold- otherwise immaculate.
