Approximately 198 lottery tickets from the Caribbean and South America from the collection of Paul Richards, a manuscript dealer who collected lottery tickets of the United States. As lotteries were illegal in this country from 1894 to the 1960s, residents of the U.S. bought tickets overseas. 181 tickets from Puerto Rico between 1862 and 1969, with many duplicates. Tickets also from Buenos Aires (1913), Argentina (1913), Santiago de Chile (1866), Rio de Janeiro (1947); complete list on request. Price is for the collection. Condition generally very good. Stock#OB985 oversize.
