Book Condition: Near Fine / Very Good. In original publisher's dark grey cloth with titles stamped in black on spine. Appears unread, previous owner inscription on card pasted on ffep, pages are clean and binding tight. Dust Jacket: Very Good +. Price clipped, sunned spine with micro-chips and creases to corner edges and extremities, otherwise a smart, neat jacket, protected in a professional collector plastic DJ sleeve, a scarce jacket in any condition. Novel was the basis for the 1954 noir movie Down Three Dark Streets released by United Artists. Early drafts of the screenplay were rejected by FBI director J.Edgar Hoover. Gordon Gordon was a FBI counter-intelligence agent during WWII. Cover art by Peter Burchard. Not a BCE (book club edition) and not a reprint.
