A wonderful first edition copy of the first book in Brian Jacques' 'Castaways' series, with in-text illustrations. First edition, first impression. Signed by the author to the half-title page. In the original unclipped dust wrapper. 'Castaways of the Flying Dutchman' is the first novel in Brian Jacques' children's series, which revolves around the adventures of a young immortal boy named Nebuchadnezzar and his dog. There are three books in total within the series. Brian Jacques (1939-2011) was a children's author who was particularly well-known for his 'Redwall' book series. He also completed two collections of short stories. Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, excellent. Bumping to one of the extremities on rear board. Dust wrapper is excellent with minimal edgewear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and very clean throughout, with a bit of age-toning to top-edge of margins. Author's ink signature to half-title page. Near Fine

Synopsis

Castaways of the Flying Dutchman is the first novel in the Castaways series by Brian Jacques, published in 2001. It is based on the legend of the cursed ship the Flying Dutchman. A young boy, Nebuchadnezzar (later Neb and Ben), and his dog, Denmark (named after the country in which he was found and later Den and Ned), are the lone survivors of the Flying Dutchman, fated to wander the earth forever immortal and youthful, helping those who need aid.

The best part of the book was when it took place on the Flying Dutchman. Unfortunately that was only the first 50 pages, The plot then becomes a search for a document.
