Illustrated with a color frontispiece, a map of the Loire folded and tipped in, 7 maps in the text, two diagrams, and over 55 illustrations in b/w throughout the text. Illustrated endpapers. Grey cloth boards illlustrated in gilt and in color at front and spine, lettered in gilt at front and spine, boards slightly soiledcorners rubbed. Front hinge cracked, but holding, back hinges starting to crack. Textblock firm.
