Contains 6 chromolithograph plates and over 70 half tone illustrations [including several plates] and 18 of Dickens's stories. aeg. Blue cloth cover with embossed gilt titling and coloured illustration of Little Dorrit and her Grandfather on the upper board and Dickens's head on the lower board; bevelled edges. Green line illustrated front and rear endpapers [both different]. 320 pages, 8vo / 215 x 160 mm. This is one of the E.N. Illustrated Standard and Art Gift Books from Nister, which was a 'series of elegantly bound in cloth of good quality, printed on art paper.' [Hunt]. Rubbing to corners, edges and top/tail of backstrip. Part of title has rubbed off on backstrip. Front hinge cracked but binding completely intact. Overall very good condition.
