The text is illustrated with black-and-white reproductions of historical illustrations and black-and-white photographs. Red coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured embossed illustration to the front panel; with, gilt coloured decoration and titles to the back strip. Edited by Jacques Levron and translated from the French by D.C. Dunning. A translation of one of the most authoritative accounts of the knightly class during the middle ages first published in the late 1800's. Rubbing of the book corners softening and rubbing of the back strip edges. Slight fading of the back strip. Age toning of the text block edges and pages. A previous owner has underlined, in a black coloured, some of the text, made marginalia and notes, particularly to the front paste-down. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. XXXVI, 345 pages.
