Hardback. , corners scuffed, edges to covers and spine a little rubbed, paper just cracking at front hinge, there is a little faint scattered foxing mostly confined to page margins, title and half title page along with pages 1-4 show larger faint marks, book in goo/, dust wrapper bound in to endpapers, is creased on spine and darkened with marks of handling, intact and in good + condition. Quarto (over 10 - 12 inches tall). , 426 pages, illustrated throughout with vignette wood cuts including a vignette title page, illustrated dust wrapper is bound in between endpapers and half title page, all text in French , half brown calf with marbled paper to sides, 4 raised bands with ornate gilt decoration and title to spine, gilt rulings to leather of covers, top edges gilt, ribbon marker, marbled endpapers
