First Edition thus [1990]; First Printing indicated by a complete numerical sequence. Very Near Fine in Very Good+ DJ: The Book shows little to no use or wear, but shows small scuff to the upper corner of the rear endpaper; binding leans ever so slightly off square, but remains perfectly secure; the text is clean. Free of creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of underlining, hi-lighting, notations, or marginalia. Free of any ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, plates, or labels. A handsome, nearly-new copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing a couple of minor, unobtrusive imperfections. Bright and clean. Corners sharp. Still has that "fresh" look, smell, and feel. Virtually 'As New'. The DJ shows light wear to extremities; mild rubbing to the panels; a 1/4" closed tear to top of spine; a couple of tiny snags at the top edge of the rear panel; the price is intact. Attractive and intact, showing only mild wear. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. Folio.(12.25 x 9.35 x 0.5 inches). 60 pages. Abridged by the author. Illustrated in color by Scott Cook. Language: English. Weight: 20.5 ounces. Hardback with DJ.

Synopsis

The full title of Charles Dickens' most famous work is technically A Christmas Carol in Prose, Being a Ghost-Story of Christmas. This novella was published on December 19, 1843, and the first edition run of 6000 copies were sold out by Christmas Eve of that year. The publication of the first edition was fraught with complications, and even though the book was received to positive reviews, profits of the book fell far below Dickens' expectations, and the financial strain caused rifts between Dickens and the original publisher, Chapman & Hall.

It was interesting to read this story and see what was from Dickens' original text and was part of the many movie adaptations about Scrooge evil ways coming back to haunt him.
