About This Item

Oxford: At the Clarendon Press, 1980. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good-. Written in the last quarter of the twelfth century this text could be described as the earliest teaching casebook in English common Law. It appears the author was his abbey's advocate for many years. This is his account of the royal courts, often presided over by Henry II himself, told in the oral tradition and enlivened by allusions of tales of Norman glory, of miracles, and to the stories of the Northern pilgrim routes. Grey cloth, gilt titling to spine, 357 pages. The dust jacket isprice clipped, shows sunning to spine and light shelf wear. For some international orders we will ask you to approve additional shipping charges to cover the cost of tracking and insurance to your country, but no extra charge will apply without your consent. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall
