Northrop, a member of the 76th New York Infantry, was captured in May,1864,near Culpeper in Northern Virginia. His highly interesting account of his captivity is remarkably objective considering the hardships he endured while a prisoner. Front cover with light stain and rumpling of the cloth. Otherwise a very clean copy internally.. First Edition. Original Dark Brown Cloth. Good. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
