About This Item
New York: Atlantic Monthly Press. Near Fine. 1997. Uncorrected Proof. Softcover. NOISBN . (printed glossy wraps) [a very nice copy, with just a touch of wear at the right-hand and bottom edges of the front cover, faint scuffing to front cover, tiny bends to bottom corners of two pages mid-book]. Uncorrected Advance Proof (labeled "Uncorrected Manuscript" on front cover, "ver 97.1.14" on title page) of the author's debut novel, which went on to win the American Book Award and subsequently to serve as the basis for a respectable but imperfect 2003 film adaptation written and directed by Anthony Minghella, with a Brit and an Aussie (Jude Law and Nicole Kidman) doing their best to pass as American Southerners, and a Texan (Renée Zellweger) doing her best to Act Up a Storm (and an Oscar). Laid in is a publisher's promotional letter to booksellers dated February 27, 1997, offering a $50 credit for a brief newsletter review plus an extra $30 if a photo of the book jacket is also used, along with the blank form necessary to apply for said credit. .

About ReadInk
Now in our 24th year of on-line bookselling, ReadInk offers an eclectic selection of quality books in a variety of subject areas. We are dedicated to the first-class treatment of every book we sell and its new owner (our customer). All orders and inquiries receive our prompt, personal attention. Your book will be shipped promptly, well-wrapped and securely packaged; the dust jacket, if any, will be enclosed in a new Brodart cover.
