One of the American West's best novelists tells the story of the rise to fame, fortune and celebrity of Buffalo Bill Cody and his sharpshooting protegee, Annie Oakley, in this dual biography. First edition, first printing. About 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches, 245 pages including index, selected bibliography and numerous b & w photographs. Bound in grey paper-covered boards with brown backstrip and gold lettering on spine.The front panel of the dustjacket shows a montage of photos of Buffalo Bill and Annie Oakley with the title in glossy brown lettering and author in gold. The back panel contains a full page photo of Buffalo Bill on horseback firing a rifle during one of his wild west shows. Boards, text and dj are clean, complete and unmarked. Unsigned, without underlining or highlighting. DJ is not price-clipped. Book and dj show no noticeable flaws or damage. A collectable copy. (Of interest near the end of the book is a list of "Western Heroes, Heroines and Villains" and the dates of their deaths.)
