About This Item

Paris, Les editions de Minuit, 1966. . First trade edition, first printing following the limited edition original, inscribed presentation copy signed by the author; 8vo; publisher's white paper wrappers printed in black and blue, wrappers somewhat marked, contents a little browned as always; a near-fine copy.
Prints several dramatic pieces most of which were originally written in English and translated here by Beckett himself. With his signed presentation inscription to the half title page, 'for John & Vera with love from Sam. Paris Jan. 1966'. The recipients were Beckett's cousin and his wife. John Beckett was a noted Irish composer. Proper family associations of any of Beckett's dramatic works are rare.
