Paris: Nouvelles Editions Latines, [1962]. First Separate Edition. 12mo (18.5cm.); original white and yellow pictorial wrappers; 155pp.; illus. Upper wrapper extremities a bit foxed, else a Fine, unopened copy. Collection of Senegalese folktales first published in the third edition of Socé's work Karim (1948). Described as "the prose counterpart of negritude poetry" due to the "timelessness" of the tales (Albert S. Gérard, European-Language Writing in Sub-Saharan Africa, pp. 129-30).
