First edition, small 8vo, pp. 316, [1]; original orange cloth lettered in gilt on spine and decorative dustjacket printed in gray, yellow, and red; top of textblock spotted with brown, the back endpapers with a few innocuous scribbled notes in ink, the jacket price-clipped and showing a half-inch tear along top edge of front panel; a very good reading copy.
