Publisher's spine imprint shows the "standard" ampersand form. Color plates uncoated on verso (thus, very early reprint). Terminal gathering has 24 pages. (Bienvenue 105; Hanff 90).
Dark green cloth boards with full color pastedown illustration of a clown and boy on the Cowardly Lion's back to front. Black title and lion's face to spine. Publisher's yellow to edges. Rubbing to extremities. Several surface tears and a peppering of chips to pictorial cover. Creases to cloth on spine. Bottom corners lightly nudged.Black and white pictorial endpapers. Previous owner's inscription and name, dated 1929, to ownership page. Spine and hinges tight. Protected in mylar.
