London: Marcus Ward. Original decorated blue cloth with beveled edges. [7] 8-140 [4] pp. All six called-for unsigned illustrations by Greenaway printed in colors on stiff glazed paper and mounted within a black-and-white ornamental border present and pristine. On front cover title is stamped in gold, decorative design stamped in black. To the left on the front cover is a vertical pastedown of flowers, printed in colors on glazed paper. No design on the back cover. Cream endpapers. Very slight wear at head and foot of spine and corners without loss, gilt rubbed and not bright, Very Good. Nice copy. Corresponds to Schuster 1a except has blue rather than brown cloth covers. Differs from Thomson 114 in having the blue cloth cover, cream endpapers, and no trellis design on the back cover. Part of a bookseller's private Greenaway collection purchased by us from her estate. . Very Good. Hard Bound. First Edition. 1875.
