Akron, Ohio: Saalfield Publishing Company, 1941. First Thus . Hardcover. Fair. Book #5 in the 15-book WWII adventure series for boys featuring aviator Dave Dawson. Orig. published in 1941 by Crown, this is a contemporaneous reprint from Saalfied, not a modern reprint. Hardcover 12 mo with purple cloth over boards stamped with a black image of Dave & his plan to front/lettering to spine is in Fair condition: clean, binding strong & straight, not ex-lib. Flaws: writing in pen inside front cover; NO other writing/underlining/highlighting. Pages tanned, heaviest around edges, commensurate with poor quality wartime paper. Hinges intact, but both starting. Heavy rubbing down to underlying boards to bottom outer corner of front cover, nicked area with cloth fraying at lower spine, spotting to both boards.
