Garden City, New York: Doubleday & Company, 1972 First printing of the stated first edition, black cloth boards with gilt-lettered spine, 238pp.; Brunner's copy with his personalized bookplate laid-in to front pastedown, and personal stamp to front-free endpage; additionally signed with birthday salutations by Brunner on the front-free endpage: "Happy Birthday! / Lots of love / from John / 1972". Occasional soiling to contents and light toning to gutter of endpapers and page margins, else book in fine condition; dust jacket with upper front corner of inside flap clipped, though list price of $5.95 still intact, spine and cover margins toned, mild edge wear to corners and spine ends, and light soiling.
