first edition. Philadelphia, J. B. Lippincott, 1974, first edition, first printing, dust jacket. Hardcover.
This is the fifth Travis McGee novel and the first American hardcover edition, with the correct $7.50 jacket price and with the 175 code on the top of the jacket flap, this was Adrian Goldstone's copy with his bookplate, Goldstone was perhaps the most noted collector of mystery/detective fiction and his John Steinbeck collection was the basis of the Goldstone & Payne bibliography of Steinbeck. Very good in a fine jacket.

New York, Grove Press, 2022, trade paperback, 272 pp, Advance Uncorrected Proof (ARC), New. Straight, tight and clean with no wear or markings in bright, pictorial card covers, no dustjacket as issued. The pieces in this collection, written between 1956 and 1961 and including short fiction, a radio play, and a stunning early novel, offer startling insights into Cohens imagination and creative process.
