New York: Lee Furman, Inc., [1938]., 1938. First edition. First U. S. edition. Near fine, bright, tight copy in dust jacket with light professional restoration to spine ends and extremities. Lord Robert Gospell moves in the highest social circles and because of this he is asked by Chief Inspector Roderick Alleyn to make some inquiries into a blackmail case. But just after Lord Robert has telephoned Alleyn to report on his progress, he is murdered and delivered in a taxicab at Scotland Yard. Very scarce book in dust jacket.

Synopsis

Death in a White Tie is a detective novel by Ngaio Marsh; it is the seventh novel to feature Roderick Alleyn, and was first published in 1938. The plot concerns the murder of a British lord after a party.
